radio fog (nózanen) is a curious weather pattern that occurs in regions containing large quantities of particles of magnetic elements in the air - generally either iron or aluminium from in pulverised form (sources yet not fully agreed on) - suspended in the natural fog that forms
this condition causes any electromagnetic signals in the area to be either dispersed or bounced around, meaning wireless transmission devices are not able to function correctly; as an additional effect this may damage improperly insulated devices as it creates the propensity for static shocks
