organization and contact

organisation

historic

qai-nen oba live in organisations of tribes/small 'city states' on different forests or regions of a large forest, all share many common cultural aspects and ideals (helped by the long distance communication), but each group still has their specific customs and ways of life. for example ones settled closer to a river thriving from fishing and worshipping water

recent times

they prefer more spread out low impact ways of populating an area, with some 'towns' being only a few small buildings a few hundreds of metres apart, connected by dirt roads and some piping/cables that connect to a basic independent grid. although there are some towns that are closer to towns of other civilisations

contact

they started having contact with the other local civilisations not too long before (believed 200 to 300 years) the 'discovery' of south americas. though actually having contact with eurasian people quite after the others, as they lived more to the interior of the continent

with the growth in contact later on, they started assimilating certain concepts from the new residents, like their base 10 numbers (previously base 12), borrowed words, horizontal left to right text and some costumes, although still maintaining a lot of their original culture
